What to do about a rat on the roof

Your house is meant to be a beautiful place where you can escape the cares of the world and just come home and enjoy peace and quiet. It is your castle. Your domain where you can find the kind of relaxation and tranquility that only comes from being in your own house.

The problem is that lurking out there are all kinds of critters and other things that are waiting to try to ruin that tranquility and peace that you so desperately want. They are doing all they can to bring chaos and disruption to your life and to take away the one thing that you want to enjoy the most.

One of those animals that can take away the enjoyment you so thoroughly desire is the rat. These pesky creatures love to burrow into your home, build a nest, start a family and live off of your food. They then bring pestilence and disease along so that you have to start worrying about the health of you and your family. This is no way to enjoy your dream home.

One problem that people frequently encounter is that the rat may not necessarily be in your home itself. It can make a nest along the gutters, eaves, filters, and chimney areas around your roof. While not in your home, they can still cause the same kind of problems. Their waste carries parasites and bacteria that can still make you, your family and your pets sick. This means that you have to get rid of these creatures from your home.

The first way to do this is to scare them off. One of the best ways to do so is by destroying their nest and making it uncomfortable for them to be at your home. You can do this by spraying the nest with a hose so that it is destroyed, and then spraying the rat until it goes away. Make sure that you give it a way to get away otherwise it may turn on you and come after you.

If this is unsuccessful then look at rat repellants, you can buy these in many of the home improvement stores you may find. You simply spray this around the area where the nest is and this should deter the rat from coming back. It is an effective way to get rid of the rat. Once it has left destroy the nest and make sure that you do some repairs so that the rat cannot return.
